The Italian spring table is a picture of rebirth - baby lamb, fresh ricotta, delicate egg-rich pasta dough and new green vegetables. Please join us on Saturday, April 22nd for a pop up dinner celebrating regional Italian spring dishes featuring locally sourced and artisanal Italian ingredients.
In addition to a four-course dinner, guests will be treated to a cheese tasting with award-winning cheesemonger, Jessica Affatato, formerly of Cavaniola’s of Sag Harbor and The Village Cheese Shop of Mattituck. Jessica believes that great cheese is borne of passion. It is an art and a craft - starting on the farmstead and ending with the exchange between the cheesemonger and the customer. For our pop-up dinner, Jessica will throughfully select cheeses to complment each course and guide guests on a culinary journey through cheese.
The menu will include dishes such as include polpette di sparagi (Sicilian asparagus fritters), smashed fava bean and mint crostini, mezzelune ai carciofi (handmade half-moon ravioli filled with artichokes and sheeps milk ricotta), agnello al forno (delicate roasted baby lamb with herbs), chicory salad with anchovy dressing, chamomile and honey pannacotta with fresh berries and more. The dishes will be paired with Italian wines and after-dinner liqueurs that Michelle will bring back from my upcoming trip to Italy in early April.
